Caledonia Fish and Golf Club, Myrtle Beach

Pawleys Island, South Carolina is home to the beautiful Caledonia Fish and Golf Club, one of the first upscale golf courses in Myrtle Beach. The land Caledonia is built on has been in continuous use since 1700 with the golf club being built on the site of an ante-bellum plantation.

Caledonia was Mike Strantz’s first signature Myrtle Beach golf course and it is imaginative, challenging and unique.  This short course gives you a chance to enjoy the scenery and ambience of your surroundings while receiving fantastic service from the staff.

Green fees of $110 – $174.50 entitle you to play a course that has been highly recognized.  It is listed among:

• Golf Digests Best New Public Golf Courses and Top 31 Upscale Courses in America
• Golf Magazines Top 100 You Can Play
• Golf Digests Places to Play 4-1/2 stars, 1996-2002
• Golfweek Americas 100 Best Modern Courses

Caledonia has a couple holes of distinction.

One of the prettiest holes on Pawleys Island but also one of the trickiest is 13.  The approach doglegs left around a giant oak to the smallest green on the course, guarded by a huge waste bunker with a pond to the left and back.

Hole 18 may be the most nerve wracking final hole on the Grand Strand.  It is a short par 4 but the green lays just steps from the deck of the ante-bellum style clubhouse and noise plus nerves could be a factor.

Caledonia is close to many Myrtle Beach condos.
