River Oaks Golf Plantation, Myrtle Beach

River Oaks Golf Plantation is set along 800 pristine acres along the Intracoastal Highway on a former nature preserve.  It is one of the truly unforgettable Myrtle Beach golf courses.  Tom Jackson and Gene Hamm combined to create three magnificent 9 hole courses named for the animals which were found when the course was built; Fox, Otter and Bear.

These three public courses at River Oaks may be played in any combination and the green fees run $39 to $61 for 18 holes.  The holes share many features of the club including:

• Public driving range
• Small well bunkered greens
• 21-30 sand bunkers per course
• Driving range
• Sand and chipping area
• Putting green
• Lessons from Glen Davis Golf Schools

The signature hole at the Bear Course is the par 3 4th.  Measuring 165 yards the tee shot requires a water carry to the peninsula green.

Over at Otter you will find the signature hole on number 9, a 521 yard par 5 that is well bunkered and has water coming into play down the right side of the fairway.

With undulating greens, mounded fairways, large lakes and finger shaped bunkers the three courses at River Oaks are recognized as some of the best golf courses in Myrtle Beach, ranking in the ‘Top 5 on the Grand Strand’ by Golf Course Ranking of America in 1990.

Conveniently located close to Myrtle Beach condos River Oaks is extremely accessible and is an experience not to be missed on your next Myrtle Beach golf vacation.
