Wachesaw Plantation E. Golf Club, Myrtle Beach

If you are looking for the most woman friendly golf courses in Myrtle Beach you may want to check out the semi-private Wachesaw Plantation E. Golf Club.  This club has hosted a number of LPGA tour events including the Kathy Ireland Greens.com LPGA Classic.

Carved out of gently rolling terrain Wachesaw is a heavily wooded course where nearly every fairway is tree lined.  It is considered to be a parkland style course.  Located in Murrells Inlet on the site of a former rice plantation it is a Clyde Johnston design and, like most Johnston designs, has a hint of Scottish influence to it.

Wachesaw was awarded 4 stars on Golf Digests ‘Places to Play.’  Green fees run around $57 to $100 and will offer you the chance to play a course that has:

• 5 sets of tees for all caliber of golfers
• Natural wetlands
• 26 fresh water lakes
• 47 sand bunkers
• Driving range
• Sand and chipping area
• Putting range
• Gentle mounding along perimeter of fairways and backing greens

The seventh hole at Wachesaw is a 580 yard par 5 with a double dogleg.  Starting with a tee shot over water you will then face a fairway which veers first to the right and then to the left.

Wachesaw is notable because it is one of only two member-owned Myrtle Beach golf courses.  Its Murrells Inlet location makes it a convenient distance from most Myrtle Beach condos.  It will quickly become a favorite among the lady golfers in your group.
